Mainstreaming Father Support in Family Hubs:
book now for our free webinar on 13 October

Join us for a ‘deep dive’ into how to make your Family Hub a trailblazing model of father-inclusive practice. This practical, evidence-based session – led by Fatherhood Institute Head of Training Jeszemma Howl – will focus on father-inclusive approaches, practice and interventions, for Family Hub leaders, managers and practitioners.

Check out our latest work on parenting leave reform

We’ve partnered with childcare tech start-up Koru Kids to call for employers to give dads at least six weeks’ well-paid leave in their babies’ first year. Read more here or go straight to the interactive #PaternityLeague table showing how even the ‘best’ employers sometimes neglect fathers.

Read our Daddy Leave working paper here – and do please share your thoughts and ideas about this paper, which we present as an early draft of what we hope will become a more ‘solid’, costed proposal over the coming months.

It’s not just FI talking about the need for a minimum of six weeks’ leave and pay for fathers and other non-birthing partners. Just recently the Chartered Institute for Professional Development, which represents more than 160,000 HR and personnel managers, has called for change (and says almost a third of employers want this too!), along with Pregnant Then Screwed, a campaign group pushing for a fairer deal for mothers and families (read more about their Let’s Talk About Six campaign here).

Tell us what you think – and get in touch if you think there are ways you could contribute to our work on this area. Please email Dr Jeremy Davies.

Online Safety

We tell our children to share but online it’s different. In fact, sometimes sharing online can be dangerous. That’s why we’re asking parents to be Share Aware and keep children safe online.

Below we have offered two links to websites created by the NSPCC with advice on helping your child to stay safe on social networks, apps and games.
